FFXIV 6.4 Stockpile – Materials
As we eagerly await the arrival of the 6.4 update, now’s the perfect time to start stockpiling essential items for the thrilling new content on the horizon. To help you prepare, I’ve crafted a comprehensive guide outlining the items likely to be in demand and their potential uses. And to make things even easier, I’ve included a handy list at the end that showcases my recommended stockpile.
New Battle Gear
One thing that’s been pretty consistent in both Shadowbringers and Endwalker is the use of each expansion’s base materials. So, it’s likely that these materials will be in demand again, just like before. The HQ versions of these items might see a decent price jump, as new recipes could be a bit tough to hit 100% quality without the help of HQ materials.
- Star Quartz HQ
- Chondrite Ingot HQ
- Integral Lumber HQ
- AR-Caean Velvet HQ
- Ophiotauros Leather HQ
Here are a few examples of materials that were required for battle gear in previous patches:
New Battle Food
As for the new battle food, predicting high-demand items can be somewhat uncertain. However, Ovibos Milk seems to be a promising investment, as it will likely be utilized in some new food recipes, either in the form of Garlean Cheese or its raw state. Even if it doesn’t feature in a popular food choice or any food at all, it can still be employed for purple scrips. Garlean Cheese, Palm Sugar, and Perilla Oil are also expected to be incorporated in some recipes, so I plan to stockpile a substantial amount of these items. Lastly, while Jhinga won’t be included in any new food recipes in 6.4, it will be used in the crafting and gathering food, ensuring its continued relevance.

- Garlean Cheese HQ
- Palm Sugar HQ
- Perilla Oil HQ
- Jhinga (from fishing)
New Tinctures
For new tinctures, I believe that Endwalker will maintain the same pattern it has followed since its inception. As a result, I plan to stockpile some older Shadowbringers flowers. These are employed in the crafting of Alkahest Grade 5, which has been utilized in both Grade 6 and Grade 7 tinctures.
- Sweet Alyssum
- Fernleaf Lavender
- Tiger Lily
- Light Gerbera
- Lunatender Blossom
- Ambrosial Water
Aethersand
Earthbreak Aethersand is expected to be in high demand throughout patch 6.4, making it an essential item to stockpile.
To efficiently gather Earthbreak Aethersand, I recommend focusing on the spearfishing method. This approach has the advantage of not being tied to specific time windows, allowing you to gather at your own pace and according to your schedule. You can spearfish for Earthbreak Aethersand in Bronze Lake in Upper La Noscea.
Purple Scrips
Purple Scrip Farming for New Materials and Immutable Solutions
One effective strategy I like to employ in preparation for patch releases is stockpiling purple scrip collectables. By handing these in when the patch goes live, I can acquire what I need and sell any surplus on the marketboard, generating a substantial profit.
For the upcoming patch, I recommend focusing on gathering materials for Rarefied Sykon Bavarois. Even if you have leftover materials, you can expect their prices to spike upon the patch’s release, making it a smart investment.

In conclusion, the items listed in this blog post are recommendations based on patterns observed in previous FFXIV patches and expansions. However, it’s essential to remember that nothing is guaranteed, and the actual materials required for patch 6.4 may differ from my predictions. As with any speculation, take these suggestions with a grain of salt, and always consider the potential risks involved in stockpiling items.
